S&P downgraded GE rating from AAA to AA+ with a stable outlook. CDS spreads on GE tightened following the downgrade action.

According to HSBC report, the EU data showed that retail sales in the Eurozone dropped in January for an eight consecutive month to 2.2%.

The UK government bonds gained, as the Bank of England began buying back its debt as part of its quantitative easing policy.
